There’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked cookies to lure you into the kitchen….or to lure you into a 5K! Grand Rapids, Michigan is hosting the first ever 5K (that I know of) that boasts thousands of homemade cookies at the finish line. You can decide if you’d like to run the 5K, walk the 5K, or just walk 1 mile before hanging around the cookie tables and sampling the many tempting delicacies. When is this yummy event happening? Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Robinette’s Apple Hause. Mark your calendar now. Or better yet, register now at www.teamorphans.com/5k .
Not only is this the only 5K in the Grand Rapids area that offers homemade cookies, it’s also the only 5K that exclusively supports adoption! 100 % of each registration goes directly toward child adoption grants for special needs orphans.
I wouldn’t dare sign off on my first blog about our Cookie 5K without giving you my favorite cookie recipe. They might even be at the finish line……
