Four weeks down, 16 weeks to go! I didn’t go quite as many miles this week because of our Team Orphans Cookie 5K on Saturday! (another blog coming in a few days with pictures!) Friday was CRAZY busy with 5K preparations- like putting out hundreds of little yellow and blue flags on the race course in the pouring rain and stuffing race packets and sorting t shirts until midnight. So I didn’t get in a swim, bike, or run workout.
I actually did something that I rarely do- I skipped a work out to sleep. Rosa was sick on Wed and Thursday with a high fever and I didn’t want to get sick from her. So instead of biking Friday morning, I slept. Good call- I’m still not sick!
So my miles are lower, but the 5K was awesome and I’m feeling tired, but well.
For training, I’ve officially switched endurance drinks and food for the bike. No more PB & J sandwiches- protein cookies instead. This coming week I’m going to try some Enduralyte capsules on the bike with extra potassium and sodium. I’ll let you know how that goes.
How often do you skip workouts to sleep? often, rarely, NEVER?????
