Week 7 was a good week! My energy was back and I enjoyed my workouts much more! This was the week of cool animals! Here’s a little background. I absolutely LOVE animals- anything furry or feathered!! One of the things I love most about running and biking outdoors is when I see cool animals. A few years ago, my Bible study leader said that every time she goes on a hike, she asks God to delight her and He usually does. I started doing that and she’s right- He usually does delight me with something cool!
This week Tuesday, Chris and I did our long 56 mile bike and saw many horse farms, cow farms, and a sheep farm. Two baby lambs were following Mamma sheep around. They were SO CUTE!!!! I never knew that a white sheep could have one white lamb and one black lamb!!! On that same ride, a deer crossed in front of us and leaped through a soybean field delighting me again.
Thursday, Chris and I were biking on the trail going through Rockford. When we saw a beautiful doe cross in front of us, we slowed down in case there would be more. Just seconds behind was her cute little spotted fawn! Delighted again!
We’re dog sitting our favorite dog, Boop, this weekend while her mom, Danni, does a mountain biking race out of town. (Danni took first place yesterday in the Expert Division- Go Danni!! ) Yestereday on my short run, I was delighted in a different way. I was coming back along a busy road with lots of traffic and a beautiful black, brown, and white dog came running out into the road and almost got hit- BUT IT DIDN’T!!! I had already stopped running and covered my eyes shouting, “NO!!!!” when it thankfully got out of the way just in time! Seeing someone’s pet hit while I’m out running would be one of the most horrible things I can imagine! I’m so glad that the dog was safe. So my delight is that the beautiful dog was safe and hopefully scared enough to stay out of the road!
So, animals delight me like nothing else!! What delights you?
You can see on my map that I’m almost halfway to Arizona. How far do you think I’ll train? Danni thinks all the way there and halfway back. Any other guesses?
