Rocket has won my heart! I’ve always been an animal lover, and I’ve always been a cat person. I’ve had one or two cats for my entire life. But I’m in the process of becoming a dog lover too. One of the things that Tom loves about me is that I can’t pass a dog on the trail without stopping to ask the owner if I can pet it. There’s just something about dog eyes that win my heart. So here is my picture collection of my favorite dogs.
Rocket (middle) is my running partner. We’ve run about 80 miles together this summer on the White Pine Trail. He’s my number one favorite dog in the world! His brother, Winston, (right) is my second running partner in training. After I take Rocket for a long run, I take Winston for a mile. He’s learning to stay on my right side and ignore distractions. He’s getting better as he grows up. Stanley (left) is only about 6 months, so he’s not running yet. But he’s very snuggly and loves his ears scratched.
Chelsea has been a favorite dog of mine for years! She belongs to my friend, Jamie. We’ve had the privilege of dog sitting Chelsea at our house a few times, which was a special treat! We had her last year on the weekend we were decorating our Christmas tree. Can you find her?
Tank belongs to my sister, Deb, and Andy out in Colorado. He’s a rescue dog and LOVES his new family! I think he’s part black lab and part basset. His coat looks like a lab, but he has the short legs of a basset. Deb found him when she was volunteering at the local animal shelter and he’s a sweet as can be. He likes to hike in the mountains, but when his short legs get tired, he likes to ride backpack!
Piper is my newest dog love!!! She stole my heart with her puppy kisses when I visited our neighbors, Brandon and Angela a few weeks ago. She LOVES to snuggle!!! I’ll be visiting her often!
Boop belongs to our good friends, Shawn and Danni. She’s been over several times for the weekend and sleeps in her bed right beside our bed. She wants to play with our cats- who want nothing to do with her. She loves our house because the living room is big enough to run and play fetch!
